The Fundación Itinerem was founded in 2018, born out of the work carried out by the Cultural Association of Historical Heritage in the Mediterranean since 2015. It’s Board of Trustees is made up of a group of professionals from the tourism, cultural and communication sectors. Their main objectives are:
The Association
- To design, foster and undertake all types of information actions regarding the possessions of Mallorca, along with other similar elements of Mediterranean heritage, encouraging their owners to include them in the initiative for the purpose of local development and cultural tourism.
- To participate in the comprehensive development of the local community by establishing collaboration agreements with other associations, educational institutions, councils and groups of professionals and businesses in order to identify and achieve common goals.
- To collaborate on local, autonomous, national and international programmes regarding cultural tourism and on territorial, economic, social and cultural tourism-related programmes and projects.
The team

Guillermo holds a degree in Law (UIB) as well as a degree in European Studies from the Europa-Institut at Saarbrücken University. He sits on the Board of Stiftung Für Kunst & Kultur, a German foundation that organises international cultural events. His experience in the cultural sector and his expertise in applicable legislation make him one of our most solid pillars.
Guillermo Dezcallar

Luis is a tourism marketing specialist. Trained at the Brussels Tourism School, he has over 30 years of experience in the creation and development of projects at an international level. He has held executive positions at Holiday Inn, Euro Disney and Meliá Hotels International. His background provides the strategic vision of the world of tourism distribution we need.
Luis del Olmo

María received her education at the European Business School of Madrid (EBS). Her professional career has been developed in the areas of business strategy, marketing, communication and social media. Likewise, she has a wealth of experience in the direct management of distinctive accommodation such as Es Cabás and Cap Rocat.
María Obrador

Jesús has a degree from the Business & Marketing School (ESIC). He led the team that created the distribution platform “meliaviajes.com” of Meliá Hotels International and his professional career was mainly developed in the areas of strategic consultation in distribution and digital transformation and in the implementation of online marketing plans.
Jesús Ramón

Joan is a lawyer, economist, graduated in Administration and Management of Businesses, chartered accountant and commerce teacher. His extensive experience as advisor of some of the main businesses of the Balearic Islands in the areas of economics, taxes and commerce, as well as his strategic vision in the management of projects, ensure the proper functioning of our company.
Joan Cerdà

Diego is the promoter behind the ITINEREM initiative. He has a degree in Business Administration (IESE), Project Management (UAX), Online Tourism Marketing (UIB) and Public-Private Partnerships (UPV), but what truly defines him is his commitment to reinventing tourist destinations based on the distinctive local culture and traditional values of their people.

Collaborators

Aina has a degree in Philosophy and Arts with a concentration in Art History (UB and UCM). She founded the Association for the Revitalisation of Old Town Centres and is a member of the Luliana Archaeological Society and the Royal Mallorcan Academy of History (all in Palma). She received the Jaume II Award in 2010. She contributes her extensive knowledge on architectural and rural heritage.
Aina Pascual

Tomeu was the first Mallorcan chef to receive a Michelin star for his “Es Molí d’en Bou” restaurant (currently “Bou Restaurant”). His cooking is rooted in traditional Mallorcan cuisine that he enhances with the creativity that comes from his commitment to innovation. He works with us on designing experiences based on traditional rural gastronomy.
Tomeu Caldentey

Leonor is a tourism marketing and digital marketing enthusiast. With over fifteen years of experience in the commercialisation of complementary tourist attractions, she sat on the Board of the Mallorca Convention Bureau from 2011 to 2017. She has training in Social Media (UOC) and Online Tourism Marketing (UIB). She works with us on the design of differential experiences.
Leonor Amengual

Javier has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management. He is a promoter for the “Rutas de la Lana (Wool Routes)” and the implementation of the European “Ruta de los Cementerios Significativos (Cemeteries Route)” (Best Innovative Tourist Product in 2011 by the WTO). He is also a coordinator for TURINEA, which features over 460 thematic routes. He helps us in an advisory capacity with the bid for the Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
Javier Sánchez

Tomàs is a philologist, writer, researcher and cultural guide. With a Master’s Degree in Balearic Studies, he collaborates with the UIB, is a member of the “Literary Geographies 3.0” Educational Innovation Network (UV), speaks at conferences on rural heritage, and collaborated on the Serra de Tramuntana’s bid for World Heritage site status (UNESCO). His particular perspective on the estate sector is his major contribution.
Tomàs Vibot

Tomeu is a “culinary archaeologist”. Through his bakery, the “Fornet de la Soca”, he recovers forgotten recipes and writes cookbooks on ancient cuisine. Named Baker of the Year by the Balearic Islands Association of Food Journalists, he was awarded the 31 de Desembre award by the Obra Cultural Balear. He helps us design ancient cuisine activities.
Tomeu Arbona

Jaume is a researcher, writer and co-author of major works on Mallorcan heritage including “Jardines de Mallorca. Tradición y Estilo (Mallorcan Gardens. Tradition and Style)”, which catalogues over thirty historical gardens in Mallorca, called “possessions”, from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries. He is a Jaume II Award recipient. He works with us on the design of cultural activities.
Jaume Llabrés

Martin studied political science at the Freie Universität in Berlin and his passion is culture. Together with Germá Garcia i Boned he co-authored “Mallorcas vergessene Geschichte”, a work about the German colony in Mallorca in the 1930s. He has been a newspaper and radio journalist since 1986 and directs the culture section of the German-language weekly magazine Mallorca Magazin. He organises classical music events and works with us on the design of cultural activities, particularly for foreigners living in Mallorca.
Martin Breuninger

José has a degree in History and works as a researcher. He specialises in different aspects of the rural world, such as the configuration and evolution of agricultural holdings. He has co-authored several papers and has participated in seminars and workshops on the training process at large agricultural holdings. He brings his expertise in his field of specialty to the table.
JOSÉ VILLALONGA

Toni is a Mallorcan writer, historian, researcher and journalist. He has written several biographical and culinary works, including “Memòria de la cuina mallorquina: receptas antigues de tots els pobles (Memory of Mallorcan Cuisine: Ancient Recipes of the People)”. He received a 2010 Gourmand World Cookbook Award in the home-cooking category in Catalan for his book “Cuina económica (Affordable Cuisine)”. He is one of our cultural advisors.
Antoni Tugores

Magdalena is a Tourism Companies and Activities Technician (UIB) and Official Balearic Islands Tourism Guide. She has provided professional services to the German public since 1996. She has participated in public administration programmes including “Los Patios de Palma (Palma Patios)”, “Palma Monumental (Monumental Palma)”, “El Barrio Judío (The Jewish Quarter)”, etc. She works with us in her field of specialisation.
Mª Magdalena Sureda

Ingrid was born in Nuremberg (Germany) and has lived in Mallorca for over twenty years. She pursued a career in the visual arts in her home country and has worked at the Fine Art Gallery (Cas Concos, Felanitx) as a gallery owner and art event organiser ever since she moved to the island. She opened the Flohr Gallery (Santanyi) in 2007, where she organises exhibitions of international artists. She manages the promotion of our cultural activities among foreigners living in Mallorca.
